Hudson River Heritage 2017 Annual Founders’ Scholarship

HRH 2017 Founder’s Scholarship recipient, Kirsten Horn, talking to Wint Aldridge, HRH founder and Warren Temple Smith, HRH President at our 2017 members reception.

This year’s recipient of the Hudson River Heritage $1000 Founders’ Scholarship Award is Kirsten Horn of Hyde Park.  This scholarship is an educational component of our mission of preserving the unique character of the Mid-Hudson Valley’s historic architecture, rural landscapes and scenic views through education, advocacy and community involvement.Applicants must be college-bound high school seniors from the Landmark District’s component school districts of Hyde Park, Rhinebeck, Red Hook and Germantown who have shown an interest in the history of the area and have demonstrated this interest through participation in related activities. Kirsten’s compelling application and interview on the significance of our local history along with her infectious enthusiasm made her the unanimous choice of the HRH Scholarship Committee.

Kirsten will be attending Cornell University in the school of Labor and Industrial Relations.  Congratulations Kirsten!
